Achievements:
- Spreading awareness on an important social issue
- Writing an article for our local News Paper
- Planning and interacting with students
Events that took place this week include:
-Kindness Wall
We made a wall that spells the word "Kind." It is a reasonably big wall, and we put it in the middle of school (By the office). By the wall, there are sticky notes with markers by it. The idea of the wall is to be an evolving piece of art by the HSS community. Students were encouraged to write anything kind on it. However, it started off blank. By the end of the week, there were plenty of kind messages written on the wall. Both students and staff wrote messages.
-Bingo Kindness
Bingo Kindness is a way to promote kindness towards others. There are bingo sheets
(3 by 3) found at the front of the office. Each square has some tasks that require some act of kindness. Once the entire sheet is completed, there is a box at the front of the office where you can put your completed bingo card. At the end of the week, we will draw a winner. Their prize is free food at the foyer.
-Concession
All week at break, Leadership has been running a coffee shop. Drinks are pink-themed, and each drink has a kind message on it.
-Kindness Cards
Every student had the opportunity to send a free lollipop. We went around the entire school asking who they would want to give their lollipop to. Each lollipop also had a kind message on a card.
-Mental Health Awareness and Cyber Bullying
There is a bulletin board which can be found at the entrance of the school. On the board, there are messages spreading awareness of cyberbullying. In the washrooms, there are sticky notes which have kind messages written on them.
-Pink Day (Anti-Bullying Day)
Pink Shirt Day took place on Wednesday the 24th of February. Everyone on that day wore pink shirts to spread awareness on anti-bullying and to spread kindness. Students were encouraged to wear as much pink as they can. Because whoever had the best pink outfit would win a free lunch at the concession.
