-Guess the number of skittles in a jar
-Skittle gram
Skittles are a excellent representation of the rainbow. So for the entire week students could purchase skittle bags to give to their anyone of their liking as a gift. It has become a leadership 2021 tradition to create these “Candy Gram” messages for each of our events. There was also a jar that was filled to the top with skittles. Students could guess the number of skittles in the jar. At the end of the week, who ever had the closest guess to the number of skittles, they would win the entire jar.
Monday
-Trivia Kahoot
Similar to our week long events. The purpose of this was to kick start pride week in a subtle way by informing students about the LGBTQ2+ community. It includes facts, terminology, and general awareness. Winners of this would also be given prizes.

-Jello Eating
This is another student favourite tradition. Students would be gather in their house teams to compete with each other on who can eat Jello the fastest. There are four different house teams. The jello was specifically made to represent the rainbow. The team to the their jello the fastest would win a prize.
Wednesday
-Flag Race
This was a game where students would have different LGBTQ2+ terms and its corresponding flags. Similar to jello eating, the house teams would come together as 4 different teams. The terms would be one side of the class room and the terms would be in the hands of the students. Each student one at a time would run and try to put the term on the correct flag. They would then run back so the next student would go. The winner of flag race would win a prize.

Friday
-Paper Mask Identity
This even will be hosted by the staff of HSS. Students will be encouraged to make their own masses. Their task is to create a make where the outside of the mask is what they show to the world, and on the inside of the mask is what they truly are.
At this current time, there has been no winners decide on the week long events. The winners of the Fashion show are Naomi Tran, Kaitlyn Li and Lia Pottinger.
The main goal with Pride Week was to spread awareness. It is the effort to make it a part of normal life. This is the first time that I have ever seen a school wide pride even throughout my 5 years being a student of HSS. There was obvious controversy around this topic, but it is important that we make that first leap towards a safer and equal future.
